Colombian Coffee, Refined: Meet Cumbres from Antioquia
A coffee we’ve offered for years is getting a thoughtful refresh. What we’ve long labeled simply as “Colombian” has always represented a rotating selection of coffees. The profile stays consistent, even as the specific lots evolve behind the scenes.
This latest iteration is Cumbres, a washed coffee grown in the mountains of Antioquia. It delivers the familiar balance you’ve come to expect, with a slightly more refined expression in the cup.
Sourced from Antioquia’s Coffee-Growing Highlands
Cumbres reflects the deep coffee tradition of Antioquia, one of Colombia’s most well-known coffee-growing regions. This lot is sourced from smallholder producers farming between 1,300 and 1,850 meters above sea level, where steady rainfall and mineral-rich soils support slow, even cherry development.
These conditions help produce a cup that is clean, balanced, and naturally sweet. It’s a profile that has long defined our Colombian offering.
Washed Process, Clean Cup
Cherries are hand-harvested at peak ripeness and sorted by density before undergoing 18 to 24 hours of fermentation. After washing, the coffee is dried using a combination of raised beds and mechanical dryers to maintain consistency across lots.
This process highlights clarity in the cup, with notes of pear, orange, chocolate, lemon, and brown sugar.
A Consistent Profile, Now with More Transparency
While the name has changed, the intent has not. This is still the coffee you’ve come to rely on for balance and approachability.
Cumbres simply gives more visibility into what’s in the bag today, while staying true to the profile you expect from our Colombian coffees.
If you’ve been buying our Colombian coffee, this is the same experience you know, now with a clearer story behind it.
Cumbres is available now on KingBean.com and in our café.
Freshly roasted and ready for your daily cup.
